Note on receptor selectivity
Erythropoietin engages two structurally distinct receptor populations: the classical homodimer, and a heteromeric complex of the erythropoietin receptor with the beta-common receptor. ARA-290 corresponds only to the helix-B surface region, which is not the region that binds the homodimer.
That makes this peptide useful as a selectivity reagent for experiments distinguishing signalling through one complex from the other. It does not reproduce the activity of erythropoietin and is not a substitute for it in any assay.

On this sequence the last entry is worth noting specifically. Incomplete cyclisation of the N-terminal residue leaves an open-chain species 17 daltons heavier with different stability behaviour. It is resolvable on a mass trace but is not quantified as a separate parameter on this certificate. Where a parameter is material to intended laboratory work, purchasers should verify it independently or source material released against that specification.
