02

The legal position, stated plainly

This compound sits in a different legal category from most of this catalogue and the distinction is worth understanding before ordering.

Most compounds here are unapproved substances with no marketing authorisation anywhere. This one is an approved medicine in the United States, held under composition-of-matter patent protection that runs into the next decade, with no approved generic. The originator has pursued litigation against a range of parties supplying compounded or otherwise unlicensed versions.

The compounding route that existed has closed. While the approved product was in shortage, compounding pharmacies were permitted to prepare copies under the exemptions that apply during a listed shortage. The shortage was resolved in early 2025 and those exemptions ended with it. There is no longer a lawful compounding pathway for this substance in the United States.

We state this because a customer who assumes the shortage-era position still holds is working from a picture that is more than a year out of date. Material supplied on this page is a laboratory reagent, sold for in vitro research, and nothing about it constitutes a route to the approved product.

Results, this lot

Purity, HPLC-UV 99.689 %
Net peptide content 23.85 mg per unit
Appearance White lyophilized powder
Mass confirmation Ions at m/z 1029.15 [M+4H]4+ and 1371.95 [M+3H]3+. Reconstructed independently these give 4112.6 and 4112.8 against an expected 4113.6.
Bacterial endotoxin Not tested on this lot

Purity and content figures above are specific to lot GS20-032026-1 and are not a specification carried across other lots. Two independent charge states agreeing to within a fraction of a dalton is a stronger identity argument than a single ion, because a truncated or unacylated species shifts the whole series rather than hiding inside one peak.

04

Check identity yourself, in ten seconds

This molecule has a molecular weight of 4113.6. On a peptide that size electrospray produces a series of multiply charged ions rather than one peak, and the arithmetic is simple enough to do without a calculator. Take the quadruply protonated ion, multiply by four, subtract four protons. Take the triply protonated ion, multiply by three, subtract three. Both should land near 4113.

That check is worth doing rather than trusting a name printed in a field. It confirms the molecular weight of the material the instrument actually saw, it takes seconds, and neither a deletion sequence nor an unacylated backbone will satisfy it. On the current lot the two ions reconstruct to 4112.6 and 4112.8, which is close agreement on a molecule of this size.

05

Testing scope

Panels differ between products and between lots. What follows is the scope of testing performed on this lot. Nothing is claimed unless it appears on the certificate for the lot supplied.

Performed

Identity by LC-MS
Purity by HPLC-UV
Net peptide content
Appearance by visual inspection
Mass confirmation, two charge states

Not performed

- Acylation completeness as a quantified figure
- Deletion sequence profiling
- Bacterial endotoxin
- Sterility and microbial enumeration
- Receptor binding or functional potency
- Elemental impurities, residual solvents

The first two entries in the right-hand column matter most on an acylated peptide. A chain missing one residue, or carrying the backbone without its fatty diacid, is a different compound with different behaviour and a mass close enough to the target that a coarse chromatographic method may not resolve it. A purity percentage measured at a single wavelength does not settle either question. Where a parameter is material to intended laboratory work, purchasers should verify it independently or source material released against that specification.

06

Storage and laboratory handling

Lyophilized powder, transit Stable at ambient temperature during shipping and short-term handling. Cold-chain transport is not required.
Lyophilized powder, storage −20 °C, protected from light, container tightly closed
Solubility Sterile laboratory-grade water or a defined aqueous buffer appropriate to the assay
Solution, storage 2 °C to 8 °C, protected from light. Materially less stable than the dry powder.
Acyl chain behaviour The C18 diacid gives this molecule surfactant-like character. Expect adsorption losses in dilute working solutions and use low-binding labware rather than assuming a calculated concentration is the actual one. Avoid vigorous agitation, which drives interfacial aggregation on acylated peptides.
Freeze-thaw Avoid repeated cycles. Aliquot at first preparation where the protocol allows.
Personal protection Handle under standard laboratory conditions with gloves, eye protection and a laboratory coat.

Preparation conditions are the responsibility of the receiving laboratory. Verum provides no protocol, no preparation instruction, and no guidance on use.

07

Published literature

This page carries no bibliography. The published record on this compound consists overwhelmingly of registration and post-approval trials conducted in human participants, using pharmaceutical-grade product manufactured to standards this material is not manufactured to. Reproducing that literature beside a research-labelled unit would misrepresent both what is being sold and what those trials examined. Researchers working on incretin receptor pharmacology know where that record lives.

08

Regulatory status

United States An approved prescription drug, dispensed under the supervision of a licensed prescriber. The material supplied here is not that product.
Patent Composition-of-matter protection runs into the next decade. No generic has been approved.
Compounding No lawful route. The exemptions available during the listed shortage ended when the shortage was resolved in early 2025.
Enforcement The originator has pursued litigation against parties supplying compounded or otherwise unlicensed versions.
Athletic competition Not currently prohibited under World Anti-Doping Agency rules. Verify the current list before relying on this.
Status date Accurate as of August 2026. Verify the current position independently.

09

Purchase eligibility

By placing an order you confirm each of the following:

You are at least 21 years of age.
You are a qualified researcher, or are purchasing on behalf of a research institution or commercial laboratory.
The material will be used solely for in vitro laboratory research.
The material will not be administered to humans or to animals, and will not be resold or transferred for any such purpose.
You have read section 02 and understand that this substance is an approved medicine under patent, with no lawful compounding route.
You are responsible for compliance with all federal, state and local law governing receipt, handling, storage and use.

Confirmation is recorded at checkout against your order. Verum reserves the right to decline or cancel any order.

Semaglutide is available in the United States as an approved prescription medicine. If that is what you are looking for, a licensed prescriber is the correct route and this is not a substitute for it.

10
