03

Why this product carries no purity percentage

Every other listing in this catalogue reports a purity figure. This one does not, and the reason is a property of the molecule rather than a gap in the testing.

This is a two-subunit glycoprotein of roughly 37 kDa, around thirty percent carbohydrate by weight, existing as a family of glycosylated isoforms rather than a single species. Those isoforms cluster on a chromatogram instead of resolving into one peak. The certificate for this lot states that clustering explicitly. A purity percentage of the kind that describes a fifteen-residue synthetic peptide does not translate to a distribution of related glycoforms, and reporting one would be manufacturing precision the method cannot support.

The second point concerns the unit itself. International Units measure biological potency. Under USP-NF a bioassay is required to determine IU accurately, and chromatography with ultraviolet and visible detection is not a bioassay. What that method can do is estimate protein content by comparing peak area for the primary isoforms against a certified reference standard, which is what the certificate reports: a range rather than a point value.

So the accurate description of this product is a unit at a nominal 10,000 IU whose content has been estimated chromatographically against a reference standard, with identity confirmed by the same method. A supplier presenting a glycoprotein hormone with a single tidy purity percentage is reporting something the analysis does not establish.

04

Testing scope

Performed

Chromatographic identification against a certified reference standard
Estimated quantity, reported as a range in IU
Full chromatogram printed on the certificate

Not performed

- Bioassay potency, which USP-NF requires to determine IU accurately
- Purity percentage
- Glycoform distribution
- Sterility
- Bacterial endotoxin
- Elemental impurities

The certificate carries its own limitations and we have not removed them. It states the USP-NF bioassay requirement, and it states that the laboratory did not observe or participate in sample selection and cannot confirm that the sample is representative of the associated lot. Both appear on the document supplied with this product. Where a parameter is material to intended laboratory work, purchasers should verify it independently.

05

Storage and laboratory handling

Lyophilized powder, transit Stable at ambient temperature during shipping and short-term handling. Cold-chain transport is not required.
Lyophilized powder, storage −20 °C, protected from light, container tightly closed
Solubility Sterile laboratory-grade water or a defined aqueous buffer appropriate to the assay
Solution, storage 2 °C to 8 °C, protected from light. This material is materially less stable in solution than the short synthetic peptides elsewhere in this catalogue.
Agitation Avoid vigorous agitation. Protein denatures at the air-liquid interface, and a 37 kDa glycoprotein is considerably more susceptible than a short chain.
Freeze-thaw Avoid repeated cycles. Aliquot at first preparation where the protocol allows.
Adsorption Expect surface losses in dilute working solutions. Use low-binding labware rather than assuming a calculated concentration is the actual one.
Personal protection Handle under standard laboratory conditions with gloves, eye protection and a laboratory coat.

Preparation conditions are the responsibility of the receiving laboratory. Verum provides no protocol, no preparation instruction, and no guidance on use.

06

Published literature

Other listings in this catalogue carry an indexed bibliography. This one does not. The published record on human chorionic gonadotropin was generated overwhelmingly in the course of approved medical use in people, using pharmaceutical product manufactured to standards this material is not manufactured to. Reproducing it beside a research-labelled unit would misrepresent what is being sold here. Researchers working on gonadotropin receptor biology know where that literature lives.

07

Regulatory status

United States An approved prescription drug for specific medical indications, dispensed under the supervision of a licensed prescriber. The material supplied here is not that product.
Athletic competition Prohibited under World Anti-Doping Agency rules.
Status date Accurate as of August 2026. Verify the current position independently.

Purchase eligibility

By placing an order you confirm each of the following:

You are at least 21 years of age.
You are a qualified researcher, or are purchasing on behalf of a research institution or commercial laboratory.
The material will be used solely for in vitro laboratory research.
The material will not be administered to humans or to animals, and will not be resold or transferred for any such purpose.

Confirmation is recorded at checkout against your order. Verum reserves the right to decline or cancel any order.

Human chorionic gonadotropin is available in the United States as an approved prescription medicine for specific indications. If that is what you are looking for, a licensed prescriber is the correct route and this is not a substitute.
