A natural fragment with three residues bolted on
This molecule is not a single designed sequence. The first four residues correspond to a fragment of adrenocorticotropic hormone, a well-characterised endogenous peptide. The last three, proline-glycine-proline, are a synthetic extension whose purpose is to slow enzymatic trimming of the natural fragment rather than to create a new pharmacophore.
That construction is worth recognising because it is shared. Our Selank listing is the same idea applied to a different natural core: a four-residue endogenous fragment with the identical proline-glycine-proline tail. The two compounds came out of the same design logic and differ in what sits in front of the extension.
For experimental design the implication is the same on both. Any observation from this material may be attributable to the four-residue core, to the intact heptapeptide, or to fragments generated as the extension is trimmed. Those are three candidate species, and a design that does not include the bare core as a comparator leaves the most obvious alternative explanation untested.

What the measured content figure means
The certificate above reports 8.30 mg per unit against a 10 mg nominal. That figure is printed here rather than summarised away, and it deserves an explanation rather than a shrug.
A quantity on a peptide unit can mean two different things. Gross fill weight is how much powder went into the container. Peptide content is how much of that powder is the peptide itself. The two are never identical, because a synthesised peptide is isolated as a salt carrying a counterion and because lyophilized material retains residual moisture. On a typical preparation the peptide accounts for roughly seventy to ninety percent of the powder by weight, with the balance being counterion and water. A container filled honestly to its gross target will still measure below that target when the peptide alone is quantified.
In practice: calculate from the measured figure on the certificate for the batch supplied, not from the nominal on the label. Where a protocol depends on a precise quantity that is the only number worth using. A supplier who does not measure content cannot tell you either way, which is the more common situation in this category.

This certificate carries no mass spectrometry
Several certificates in this catalogue publish a mass confirmation alongside the purity figure. This one does not. The laboratory releasing this batch reports purity and content per unit, and does not print a mass spectrum on the face of the document.
A purity figure describes how much of what eluted was one peak. It does not, on its own, establish the molecular weight of that peak. On a seven-residue sequence built from a four-residue natural core, the species most worth excluding are precisely those a chromatographic method may not separate cleanly: the bare core, and truncations that have lost part of the extension.
There is a second reason it matters here specifically. This sequence carries a methionine, and methionine oxidised to the sulfoxide is sixteen daltons heavier with the same sequence and similar retention. A mass measurement separates those two; a percentage does not. Where molecular weight confirmation is material to your work, request it before ordering or source material released against it. For reference, the intact heptapeptide gives a protonated ion near 815.

The methionine changes how this is handled
Several short peptides in this catalogue carry no oxidation-sensitive residues at all and are correspondingly forgiving. This one is not among them. The methionine at position 1 oxidises to the sulfoxide, and the product has the correct sequence, a mass sixteen daltons higher, and altered behaviour.
One instruction follows for anyone buying across this catalogue: keep this peptide away from copper. The copper complex sold here, and the blends built around it, are redox-active, and copper together with a methionine-containing sequence accelerates exactly the chemistry above. Do not share buffers, do not combine working solutions, and treat labware that has carried a copper complex as unsuitable for this material. The same applies to free iron and to any oxidising buffer component.
